1. Who we are

2. The short version

There are no user accounts on this website and we do not ask for your name, e-mail or any identifier.
Audio streams play directly between your browser and the radio station — they never pass through us.
Favorites and settings live in your browser’s local storage only.
Shared lists are encoded entirely in the link itself; we store nothing on our servers.

3. “Now playing” metadata forwarding

To show the current track and cover art, your browser sends the URL of the station you are listening to to our edge service (api.kooradio.app), which connects to the station once, parses the embedded metadata (ICY / ID3) and streams it back to you.

We do not store, index or share this data. Each session holds the connection only as long as you listen; nothing is written to disk. Cover art extracted from the stream is cached briefly under a content hash solely so your browser can display it; the cache expires automatically.

4. Play counts

Popularity charts are driven by anonymous, aggregated counts. Play-count beacons carry no cookies and no user identifiers. IP addresses are used only transiently for rate-limiting and are never stored in full.

5. Advertising

This site is free and funded by advertising. We plan to serve ads through third-party networks (Google AdSense) which may set cookies or use similar technologies subject to your consent choices. For visitors from the European Economic Area and similar jurisdictions, a consent management platform will be shown before non-essential cookies are set. Ad slots are always labelled “Advertisement” and never placed inside the player.

6. Third-party assets

Station logos and some images are loaded from a third-party content network (logos.radioloop.org). When you open a page containing station logos, that provider receives your IP address and standard request data. We are progressively moving these assets to our own storage and will update this section when that happens.

7. KooRadio website vs. KooRadio app

The KooRadio iOS app is a separate product with its own privacy nutrition label (“Data Not Collected”). The app contains no trackers, no ad SDKs and no analytics, and we do not link what you do on this website to the app or to any device.

8. Local storage

We store a theme preference (light/dark) and, if you use them, your favorites in your browser’s localStorage. This data never leaves your browser and you can clear it via your browser settings at any time.

9. Server logs

Our edge service keeps short-lived technical logs for abuse prevention and diagnostics (request path, truncated IP prefix, timestamps). Logs are not used to profile visitors.

10. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, delete or object to processing of personal data. Because we hold almost none, the fastest route is usually your browser’s own controls; for anything else, contact [CONTACT-EMAIL] and we will respond within the statutory period.
